Las Vegas Market and KBIS

This month the DDG team attended the Las Vegas Market and KBIS (the Kitchen & Bath Industry Show). Conventions and trade shows offer a great opportunity to grow connections, knowledge and gain new inspiration as a designer. This year’s Vegas conventions were full of new and refreshing designs that we can expect to see popping up both on your timeline and in person! Here are some of our take aways from these conventions.

A rising trend in kitchen and bath that was seen throughout the show was the colourful plumbing fixture. From muted pastels to bright primaries, colour was making its way onto faucets, bathtubs, and even vanity sinks. These unexpected pops of colour offered a refreshing and unique way of looking at the typical bath and kitchen fixture. Another major trend we saw throughout was a nod to the past style and form of the past. Vintage is back and we are loving it!

Most of the world leading industries have been actively focusing on smart design, and sustainable design solutions. The kitchen and bath industries are leading with intention as they incorporate technology, eco conscious materials and practices to make for longstanding design that makes a positive environmental impact. Incorporation of Smart Home technology was displayed from brands like Moen and Kohler, and we did not miss the chance to check out the new collections that put sustainability first.

Design conventions are a great place to discover new brands and get hands on experience with the product. Two brands we saw for the first time that we want to highlight are Acquabella and Marmite. These European brands are global leaders in creating engineered stone basins, bathtubs, and shower trays. Their products have a classic yet unique form and feature a variety of finishes. Their bathroom fixtures come in natural or muted pastel and earthy tone colours. Check them out for a look into European style and bathroom trends!
