Our Team

Most of us here at The Dickson Design Group are raising young families in older urban homes. In other words, we get it — and understand firsthand that smart storage and versatile spaces that do double (or triple) duty are every bit as important as great design.

We work closely together, and always with your best interests in mind. Here’s a bit more about each of us:

Kate Dickson, Principal Designer

Known for her contemporary and mid-century modern designs, Kate has created a niche transforming small homes that need a lot of love into bright, fresh and functional spaces.

Kate started her career with a Bachelor of Commerce Degree and spent years working in the corporate world, but quickly realized that design was where her heart was. She turned her passion into a reality by studying design at George Brown College and spending the better part of a decade building a thriving studio with a diverse portfolio of work.

Kate’s been an active member of the Decorators and Designers Association of Canada (DDA) since 2012 and now serves as a member of their board. She has won several awards, including silver for kitchen design at the DDA competition in 2020, Best of Houzz Design in both 2019 and 2021 and being shortlisted for the International Design and Architecture Awards in 2020.

Her project management background combined with her design style, eye for detail and warm personality make her the ideal candidate to tackle any project, big or small. Whether it’s new construction, an addition, or a kitchen remodel, Kate loves to plan and create spaces that meet her client’s needs and reflect their personal style.

Kate, her husband, two kids and their dog live in central Toronto but love escaping north of the city to ski during the winter and explore by canoe during the summer. When she’s not poring over blueprints or fabric samples, Kate enjoys cooking, reading, good wine and travelling—not necessarily in that order!

Keziah Scott, Designer

In addition to graduating with a Bachelor of Interior Design, Keziah studied both art and design at George Brown College. She is known for her incredible 3D models and graphic design prowess, but her artistry extends to furniture making and drawings, too.

Keziah works hard to bring our client’s plans to life in computer renderings that will help them visualize their new space. She also works closely with Kate on material selection and for each project.

Being the youngest member at The Dickson Design Group, Keziah always brings new energy and perspective to the team. We’ve come to rely on her to keep us up-to-date on what’s trending in design and beyond! Pre-pandemic, Keziah spent time in Europe and fell head over heels for Sorrento, Italy. Ask her about Japandi (Japanese-Scandanavian design) - her other love.

Laura Witkowski, Operations Manager

Laura’s background is in corporate events and meeting planning, however, since joining The Dickson Design Group, she has developed a keen interest in her newfound line of work, to the point where she can’t pass a decorating magazine or beautiful tile sample without taking a closer look.

Laura keeps everything and everyone at DDG on track.  She’s one of those people that makes it all look easy, but behind the scenes, she is skilled at organizing all of the day-to-day details for the company, including (but not limited to!) order management, project timing, and client billing.

When not coordinating with suppliers and driving around Toronto picking up samples, Laura loves running, reading and spending time with her husband, two sons and their adorable pug, Tyson. She is a huge hockey mom, so you’ll likely find her cheering on her boys at the rink or shuttling them to the golf course, depending on the season. When her kids’ sports schedule allows it, she loves spending time with family and friends at her cottage.

Christine Rigby, Business Manager

After graduating with her Bachelor of Commerce Degree, Christine worked building a career in Marketing, Public Relations and Human Resources, that grew through her experiences in London, England and the Cayman Islands, before landing in Toronto. Most recently Christine worked as the Outreach and Community Manager at Canada’s largest digital rep firm where she oversaw all of the digital influencer content.

As the brand ambassador for The Dickson Design Group, Christine is in charge of business development and creating content that speaks to the DDG mission. She responds to comments and questions via our social media channels and manages all external communication, including writing the DDG blog and handling media pitches.

When not working, Christine likes to spend time with her husband, three kids and extended family in Lake of the Woods. An active member of her community, her volunteering extends from her kids schools and sports to helping new immigrants adjust to life in Canada. She is an avid reader and counts on her friends for regular morning runs. She and her family are currently undertaking a house renovation (with Kate Dickson’s help, of course!).
