The Dickson Design Group is a Toronto-based interior decorating and design studio led by Kate Dickson. We specialize in creating clean and comfortable, yet warm and inviting, spaces for modern families. Our style is timeless and contemporary, often with classic, mid-century modern, and/or industrial touches.
We handle projects of virtually every size and scope, including renovations and new builds, and are equally proud of our strong project management skills as we are our designs. We currently take on projects from Etobicoke to the Beach, and Sheppard down to the lake — and always start with an in-home design consult, where we come see your space, talk about your project, and toss around some ideas to give you a sense of what’s possible. If you choose to proceed from there, the cost of that consult will be credited towards your project cost.

Our Process
Before creating a design concept for your space, we focus on getting to know you, discovering how you live, and understanding your tastes so we can create a cohesive and functional design plan that’s perfectly you. We’ll also take detailed measurements and assess your existing furniture so we know exactly what we’re working with.
Design concepts include virtually all decorative — and some functional — elements including millwork, furniture, window treatments, fabric, lighting, rugs, artwork, hardware and accessories.
Once a concept is approved, we move on to ‘sourcing and acquisition’, where we bring you a curated selection of options for each element, and then handle the ordering/procurement, delivery, and inspection of your chosen elements.
If your project includes construction, we can act as your eyes and ears, coordinator, and problem solver throughout the reno/build process. We pride ourselves on expertly collaborating with trades and contractors and troubleshooting wrinkles and inevitable ‘fun surprises’ as they arise so your project stays on track, turns out as envisioned and doesn’t cause you any unnecessary stress or hassle.
